Stranraer v Brechin City - Match Preview - By Steven Mew

City will be hoping it's third time lucky as they make the long journey to Stranraer again tomorrow evening for a crucial League One clash, with the bad weather causing the postponement of the fixture on two occasions.

The match is of huge significance to both sides in the battle to avoid the bottom two spots in League One and City will be looking to follow up Saturday's confidence-boosting 2-0 win over East Fife at Bayview with another positive result at Stair Park.

TEAM NEWS
The travelling squad will be largely unchanged from the one which pleasingly had a full bench on Saturday for the even more pleasing victory at Methil against East Fife.

MANAGERS COMMENTS
Manager Barry Smith was clearly pleased at Saturday's result, describing it as a real 'team performance'. He added, "We have good experience in the team and supporters can see that, in addition to an increasingly solid looking defence, our ability to carry a goal threat is also improving.

"There really isn't much between the vast majority of teams in this league, and recent results are continuing to prove that. Our only loss in the last 6 games came against Stranraer at The Glebe, and the players are looking forward to what we know is a vital game against a side who did well to take a point off Arbroath at the weekend."

MATCH OFFICIALS
The referee tomorrow evening is John McKendrick, who will be assisted by Mark McLean and Scott Love. McKendrick had been due to officiate the previous fixture between the sides two weeks ago which was called off due to wind and rain.

ADMISSION INFORMATION
For those City fans making the long journey south-west, admission prices are as follows:

PREVIOUS MEETINGS
Brechin City 1-1 Stranraer - 29 September 2018
The first fixture between the sides this season saw a share of the spoils at Glebe Park in September. An inch-perfect 20 yard free kick from Callum Tapping had given City a half time lead, however Luke Donnelly struck late for Stranraer 5 minutes from time to earn a draw.

Brechin City 1-2 Stranraer - 23 February 2019
The last meeting just over a month ago saw the Blues take all three points back south-west. City took the lead through Euan Smith but an almost immediate reply from Innes Cameron levelled things up at the break. The winning goal came 20 minutes from time courtesy of a deflected Jamie Hamill free kick.
