Forfar Athletic v Brechin City - Match Preview

The competitive action starts tomorrow afternoon for City with a local derby against Forfar Athletic in the Betfred Cup group stage.
Following a huge squad overhaul in the Summer, a new-look Brechin squad travel to Station Park to face a Loons side packed with ex-City players.
TEAM NEWS
Manager Barry Smith doesn't have his troubles to seek with a number of players unavailable for selection. Experienced defender Dougie Hill is suspended whilst Olly Hamilton will miss out through injury - with the young striker currently receiving treatment at parent club St Johnstone after coming off against Falkirk in midweek. The Club are currently still awaiting international clearance for two players. Striker Ross Crawford will also be unavailable for selection.
MANAGERS COMMENTS
Manager Barry Smith said, "It's a derby and we want to make sure we are competitive and give a good account of ourselves. A lot of players have been in training but haven't played alongside the others in a game yet. It's going to be a tough ask tomorrow but we'll have the players organised and ready to go."
MATCH OFFICIALS
The match officials for the local derby tomorrow is Gavin Williams who will be assisted by Ivan Stankovic and Chris Phillips. This will be the first City match that Williams has taken charge of.

All clubs in Group B agreed to a standard pricing structure which is as follows:

PREVIOUS MEETING
Brechin City 2-2 Forfar Athletic - 9th March 2019
The last meeting between the sides saw City surrender a two goal lead at Glebe Park. Goals from Andy Jackson and Dougie Hill had City in a commanding position on the half hour mark, but a goal on the stroke of half time by Dylan Easton gave Forfar a lifeline. The Loons would go on to equalise 12 minutes from time thanks to a spectacular long range effort from Brad Spencer.
