Stirling Albion v Brechin City - Match Preview - By Steven Mew

City travel to face an in-form Stirling Albion side at Forthbank tomorrow afternoon.

The Binos started the season poorly however their form has improved dramatically with just 2 defeats in their last 11 games. City meanwhile are looking to end a torrid run of eight matches without a win, stretching back to the end of September.

Tomorrow's opponents have no fewer than 5 ex-City players in their ranks with former skipper Paul McLean, Jordan Lowdon, Gareth Rodger, Dylan Mackin and Darryl Duffy all having previous spells at Glebe Park.

TEAM NEWS
For the second week running, Mark Wilson should have a full squad to choose from for the visit to Forthbank tomorrow.

MANAGERS COMMENTS
Reflecting on the defeat against Stenhousemuir last weekend, Manager Mark Wilson commented, "I don't think we deserved to lose the game but the breaks just aren't going for us right now. I didn't feel we were under much threat in the second half and we probably looked the likelier to score. At the minute we feel we are having to work incredibly hard to get our goals yet it's too easy for other teams to score against us.

"There were still plenty of positives to take from the game and we scored a well worked goal and we had a number of other chances. We've got to put the result behind us.

"It's too early to be looking elsewhere in the league just now. Obviously you don't want to get too detached but there is a long way to go. However, we need to start picking up results and hopefully we can start tomorrow.

"In the last game against Stirling we played well for 70 minutes and had a number of guilt edged chances to put the game to bed. We let them back into it, conceded a disappointing goal and they took confidence from that. In that match we passed the ball well and caused them problems - we'll look to do the same tomorrow.

MATCH OFFICIALS

PREVIOUS MEETING
Brechin City 1-1 Stirling Albion - 5th October 2019
Former skipper Paul McLean returned to haunt City as he nodded the equaliser for the Binos at Glebe Park back in October. Paul McManus had given City a deserved lead just two minutes into the second half however McLean levelled things up on 68 minutes. The visitors went on to dominate the remainder of the game, with City keeper Lewis McMinn in inspired form to ensure City earned a point.
