LUC BOLLAN SIGNS - By Steven Mew

The Club are pleased to confirm the signing of former Dundee United and Aberdeen defender Luc Bollan as Mark Wilson continues to assemble his squad ahead of the new season.

The 20 year-old arrives at Glebe Park having left Pittodrie following the expiry of his contract in June.

Luc began his career at Dundee United where he made two appearances for the first team, whilst also spending time on loan at Cowdenbeath. His performances for the League 2 side caught the eye of Paul Sheerin, who snapped him up for Aberdeen's development side at the end of the 2018/19 season.

He would go on to gain further loan experience in the SPFL with Peterhead in League 1 at the tail end of last season, making several appearances before the coronavirus crisis cut his stay short.

Luc follows in the footsteps of his father Gary, who also represented City back in the 2005/06 season - making 19 appearances.

Manager Mark Wilson commented, "In Luc we've got a centre half who is strong, commanding and comes from a great pedigree in the Aberdeen academy. He's probably unfortunate not to get a new contract there due to the pandemic but it's worked in our favour. He's a real leader with a bright future ahead of him and we look forward to seeing him perform at the Glebe."

Bollan joins Rory Currie and Connor Coupe in signing up for City for the 2020/21 season and Mark is delighted with his business so far. He said, "I'm extremely exited at the prospect of working with these players. They are young and will add another dimension to the side this season. They are hungry and looking to prove that not only can they do a good job for Brechin City, but they can progress their careers further."
