Wednesday 26th August 2020 finally saw The Club’s 114th Annual General Meeting take place at Glebe Park.
Delayed due to public health guidelines in light of the Coronavirus pandemic, this was hosted in the David H Will Stand and broke new ground with members seated in the pitch-facing enclosure rather than the more conventional interior environment of the City Club.
Over 80 members attended in a socially distanced manner to hear reports from Club’s office bearers from within The Management Committee. This included reflections upon season 2019/20, which had been curtailed with 9 league matches still to be played when all football activities were suspended across the country. Included in a wide range of topics, members were also updated around the current financial standing of The Club. A lively debate took place focusing upon the topic of potential incorporation of the Club, before Manager Mark Wilson shared his views on the playing side of the Club along with his plans and aspirations for the coming season.
As had been previously made known to members, local businessman Kevin Mackie and former player Grant Johnson, who had been co-opted on to the Management Committee a few weeks prior, had their positions formally ratified. In the absence of any new nominations, long-standing Committee members, Ken Ferguson, Martin Smith and Ian Jardine who retired through rotation, were re-elected for a further 3 years.
Following conclusion of the meeting, and as is customary, the Management Committee formally reviewed the Office Bearer roles. This remains unchanged for the coming season – leaving the existing structure in place, namely:
• Chairman: Ken Ferguson
• Vice Chairman: Martin Smith
• Secretary: Grant Hood
• Treasurer: Kevan Innes
The Club wishes to thank all members who attended, and acknowledges everyone for playing their part in adhering to the protocols in place to allow the meeting to go ahead – particularly given such a lengthy meeting in far from ideal outside conditions.
