Michael O'Neill has made his first signings as Brechin manager as both Stuart Ferguson and John Ward join the club.

Stuart Ferguson has joined the club from angus rivals Montrose and can play anywhere down the left hand side and his versatility will come in useful next season as O'Neill will work with a smaller squad in the 2nd division. Stuart was also Montrose's club captain and has signed a one year deal. He made over 170 appearances for Montrose and was their longest serving player at the club. Stuart still has a real future ahead of him.

John Ward meanwhile was ever-present for Cowdenbeath as they won the 3rd division championship last season but didn't wish to renew his contract at Central Park. Ward is a commanding centre back who made 35 appearances for the Blue Brazil last season, scoring 5 goals. Ward has also signed a one year deal with the club. Michael O'Neill beat off competition from two second division clubs and one third division club to capture Ward's signature.

Michael O'Neill said, "Stuart has got good pace and he gives me a lot of options. John Ward meanwhile is a real leader on the park and he is also a great threat from set pieces. Both of these guys are still young which is good and hopefully they will do well for us next season."
