Following two convincing wins on the road whilst scoring nine in the process, City go into tomorrow's home fixture against Wick Academy with a real degree of confidence.
Manager Andy Kirk is calling for much of the same from his players as his side look to maintain pressure on the sides directly above in the league table.
Wick Academy visit the Glebe having picked up one win in their last five outings, albeit this came after an impressive run of 8 wins from 9 which saw the Scorries surge up to 8th in the table, where they remain.
TEAM NEWS
City will continue to be without Kieran Inglis who has a hamstring problem whilst Michael Paton, who missed the midweek trip to Keith through Covid, is rated as doubtful.
MANAGERS COMMENTS
Reflecting on the thumping win over Keith in midweek, Andy Kirk commented,
"To score 6 goals and keep a clean sheet away from home is fantastic and we did it in difficult conditions. Similar to Saturday it was quite windy and the pitch wasn't great but the players dealt with it very well. We worked hard all over the pitch which is what we asked for."
The game saw David Cox net a hat-trick, with Andy adding,
"David has been in and out of the team a little bit due to niggles, strains and covid - he's not really had a chance to get a run in the team. In training he has shown a real appetite to work hard and get himself back fit and in the team. He is making it difficult for defenders and he is getting his rewards for his hard work - I'm glad to see him hitting the net."
On-loan St Johnstone forward Jordan Northcott made his debut for City up at Keith with Andy commenting,
"Jordan is a lively player and looks really sharp but he needs games to get him up to speed - he's a young, fit boy so it won't take him long to do that. He contributed plenty against Keith and it would have been a positive experience for him. I'm sure there is a lot more to come from Jordan and we'll look to help him with his development. He gives us another option going forward.
Looking ahead to tomorrows game he said,
"We'll to looking to start where we left off. We've shown a reaction from the Brora game and rolled our sleeves up against Huntly and Keith - now the challenge is to do that again on Saturday. We need to stamp our authority on the game and we have the ability and talent in the team to do that."
