Match Preview | Lossiemouth v Brechin City
- By
Steven Mew
City are Moray-bound tomorrow afternoon as we travel to face Lossiemouth for the final game of the season looking for an 11th consecutive win.
The curtain comes down on an eventful season in the Highland League for City, with Andy Kirk keen for his side to end the campaign on a high.
They come up against a Lossiemouth side who currently occupy 14th position but are without a defeat in their last three matches. Although they are unable to leapfrog any of the sides above them, they will be looking to avoid falling further down the table with Deveronvale just a solitary point behind.
MANAGERS COMMENTS
On the 5-1 victory over Fort William last weekend, Manager Andy Kirk said, "The last 15 minutes made it feel better and it brings a fresh energy when you finish a game in that way. We had a lot of possession and got in some really good areas but we were a bit wasteful with our final ball. Some of the passages of play were good but maybe a bit slow at times, but ultimately it's 5 goals and I'm pleased with the result.
"Credit to the players - it's the end of the season and we've challenged them to win 11 in a row and we've one left to go. We're not taking anything for granted as we know Lossiemouth will be a tough game - we know we have to be ready."

PREVIOUS MEETING
Brechin City 5-0 Lossiemouth -
A first goal of the season for Michael Paton set City on their way to a third consecutive five-goal victory in November. It was a match in which City dominated from start to finish, but it took a flurry of goals late on to give the scoreline a more accurate reflection of how the game went.
Paton's goal had City 1-0 up at the break, before substitute Garry Wood doubled the advantage four minutes after the restart. A late brace from David Cox had City coasting before Max Kucheriavyi rifled in a fifth in stoppage time.
