"To all Brechin City fans, sponsors, benefactors and volunteers near and far, it gives me great pleasure to write to you all as our season has now drawn to a close.
"Season 2021/2022 has been a learning curve for us all, the Highland League experience and hospitality has been inspirational and welcoming. The togetherness and positive energy generated by these rural communities is something we should all strive to match and enjoy.
"The team has finished 3rd but many "what ifs?" will be forever in our minds. We now recharge and go again - stick together, stand together and never give up!
"We have two months off now to enjoy the freedom of no games on a Saturday before we meet again and embark on our journey where we will challenge ourselves to be Champions this coming season.
"I am delighted to announce that we have retained the core of our squad for next season with negotiations ongoing. Jamie Bain, Marc Scott, Ewan Loudon, Michael Cruickshank, Kieran Inglis and Seth Patrick have all agreed extensions with Iain Davidson, Hamish Thomson, Kevin McHattie and Cammie Ross already contracted for next season.
"Andy, Craig and 'Simmy' deserve a huge pat on the back for having us in a very healthy position regarding signed players for next season.
"Let's take as much positives from this season as possible and be reassured this journey is a marathon and not a sprint.
"The spirit and positives have been hugely encouraging and I look forward to continuing our close links with the whole community and not just football fans as this is what is needed to make our journey a success.
"We continue to look to introduce new players to the Club and will announce these as and when the ink is dry.
"Regarding friendlies, it gives me pleasure to announce that we have agreement from Arbroath and Aberdeen to play 2 home games on the 25th June and 5th July at the Glebe.
"Enjoy your summer and I look forward to seeing you all on the 25th June."
