Brechin City FC is delighted to confirm the signing of talented young striker Grady McGrath on a two year contract from East Craigie FC.

The former Dundee youth netted a sensational tally of 72 goals from 43 appearances last season as the Dundee outfit narrowly missed out on the Midlands League title to Carnoustie Panmure.

His goalscoring exploits for the Shipbuilders had unsurprisingly attracted interest from numerous SPFL sides and Manager Andy Kirk was pleased to land a player he has kept an eye on over the course of the last year.

He commented, "We're delighted to get a player of Grady's talent at the club. He's a goalscorer, he's creative and he has a lot of technical ability. We're excited about the goal threat that he will bring to us.

"He's had a fantastic season at East Craigie where he scored over 70 goals and we are hopeful he will add that cutting edge to our front line. He's a talented young player that will only improve with us.

"To score that number at any level shows that he is hungry to score goals. We've watched him a number of times this season and his link up play outside the box will create a lot of goals as well.

"He came in as a trialist earlier in the season against Formartine and he did particularly well in that game and was unfortunate not to score. At that time we had a lot of forward players but we've kept an eye on him and he's matured and developed further. We feel that we are getting a player that is on an upward trajectory."
