On the eve of our opening Highland League fixture of the season, Manager Andy Kirk has added Brechin-based goalkeeper Dean Easton to the squad on a 1-year deal.

Following the departure of player/goalkeeping coach Iain Ross due to work commitments, City have moved quickly to fill the void ahead of the new campaign and Dean will now compete with number one Lenny Wilson for a starting berth.

The former Brechin City youth, who has most recently represented Brechin Victoria in the Midlands League is no stranger to management & players having trained with the club since last season and has featured in all but one of our pre-season friendlies.

Manager Andy Kirk commented, "Dean trained once a week with us last season and his attitude has been different class. In pre-season he has worked really hard and has performed well when called upon.

"Opportunities arise in football and with Iain Ross moving on due to his work, it opened up an opportunity for someone else and Dean has grabbed it with both hands.

"I'm pleased for him to get this opportunity and I want Dean and Lenny (Wilson) to push each other on and improve."
