City skipper Paul Deas has decided to hang up his boots due to work and family commitments.

The vastly experienced left back has served a number of senior sides in Scotland. He started off his career at St Johnstone and had a spell at Stirling Albion before joining Livingston, where 'Deasy' played a huge part in their rise up the leagues. He then went on to play for Partick Thistle and Ross County before signing for Brechin in January 2003. Paul made 108 appearances for the club at either left back or centre half.

City manager Michael O'Neill was dissapointed to see Deas leave: He said,

"I'm dissapointed that Paul has decided to retire. He was a player I wanted to keep on at the club but unfortunately he has a lot of commitments outside football. I have a lot of time for Paul and hopefully this is not the last time he is involved at Brechin in one capacity or another."

Everyone associated at Brechin City Football Club would like to wish Paul all the best in the future.
