Following a disappointing SPFL Trust Trophy exit in midweek, City have the opportunity to bounce back quickly with the Highland League fixture at home to Nairn County tomorrow afternoon.
The Wee County make the journey to the Carnegie Fuels Stadium at Glebe Park having lost their opening 3 league fixtures against Brora Rangers, Banks O' Dee and Rothes, although they recorded a narrow 1-0 victory against Wick Academy in the Prelimary Round of the Highland League Cup.
TEAM NEWS
City will continue to be without long term injury victim Anthony McDonald who had a consultation with a specialist yesterday in relation to his back injury. Captain Euan Spark is also a doubt after coming off with a hamstring problem against Hibernian B in midweek. Lewis Martin, who featured on the bench in midweek is nearing a return to action.
MANAGERS COMMENTS
Looking back at the SPFL Trust Trophy exit to Hibernian B in midweek, Manager Andy Kirk said,
"I'm putting Tuesday's match down to the amount of games that we've had. We've watched the game back and there wasn't an awful lot in it other than individual mistakes leading to the first three goals.
"Hibs were a good team are they are there for a reason - they can do things with the ball at speed and if you make mistakes you will be punished. At the moment we're asking part time players to play Saturday-Tuesday for the best part of 6 weeks and it's a demanding schedule for them. Hopefully we can now get back to our normal routine and we will have more sharpness about us.
"We're always looking to add players that will improve our squad but the market is difficult for us because of our location. We've got to keep our eye on things but we've got a talented squad and they have to prove it week in week out.
"We're back at home again tomorrow and we've got the opportunity to put things right after Tuesday. Nairn will come here and fight tooth and nail for everything as they'll be desperate to pick up points as well. We need to get back to the standards that we reached last year but first and foremost we need a reaction from Tuesday."

PREVIOUS MEETING
Brechin City 3-0 Nairn County - 22 March 2022
The last meeting between the sides in March saw City net three goals without reply at Glebe Park. Up against a Nairn outfit that deservedly earned a share of the spoils in the meeting between the sides the previous month, City never looked in any danger of dropping points in this encounter.
Grady McGrath opened the scoring midway through the first half before Marc Scott doubled the advantage shortly before the break. City wrapped up the win through Botti Biabi three minutes from time.
SPONSORSHIP & MASCOT
A huge thank you to Smallworld Nursery who have sponsored the fixture and matchball for the game and we hope you all have a great day in hospitality. Our mascots tomorrow will be Oakley Calder and Kerr Baillie.
