After progressing to the semi-finals of the Highland League Cup last weekend, City return to league action tomorrow afternoon as we welcome Strathspey Thistle to the Carnegie Fuels Stadium at Glebe Park.
City will come up against a Strathspey side who finished bottom of the Highland League last season. The Jags find themselves at the foot of the table again so far this campaign having failed to register a point from their opening 5 matches.
TEAM NEWS
City will continue to be without Anthony McDonald and Ewan Loudon whilst Marc Scott is suspended after picking up a red card last time out in the league against Rothes. Ewan White however will return after serving a two-match suspension.
MANAGERS COMMENTS
Reflecting on the win over Inverurie Locos last weekend, Manager Andy Kirk said,
"I didn't think we were anywhere near our best or as fluent as we would normally be. However we are now into a semi-final with two goals and a clean sheet. We've just got to keep pushing for a little bit more and potentially wrap games up a little bit quicker. Overall we've got to be pleased though.
"We now have a semi final which is important to us as a group and what we are trying to achieve. The league is massive for us but our focus is on every game and we are looking forward to the semi final. If we can get a home draw that would be fantastic but regardless of what team we get it's going to be a tough game."
Strike duo Liam Duell and Grady McGrath were again on target, with Andy adding,
"You want your strikers scoring goals and if they're not scoring goals then they are involved in the play and creating chances. Liam has proved since he's come in that he can chip in with a goal and probably should have had two on Saturday after missing a good chance in the first half."
Looking ahead to tomorrow's match, he said,
"If you want to be successful then you need to be winning your home games. Regardless of whether it's against a team at the bottom or the top end of the league, our preparation is exactly the same. Performances have been good but if we can tidy up on one or two things and increase the speed a little bit then we'll be getting closer to where we want to be. Saturday is a chance for us to that, especially at home."

Within seconds of the start, Anthony McDonald added a third before further goals from Grady McGrath, Marc Scott and Botti Biabi rounded off a comfortable afternoon.
