Match Preview | Lossiemouth v Brechin City - By Steven Mew

City are Moray-bound tomorrow evening as we make the trip to face Lossiemouth at Grant Park (8pm kick off).

Despite the fixture against Wick Academy being postponed at the weekend, Manager Gavin Price ensured his players were kept ticking over with a friendly against Lochee United, which saw City run out 2-0 winners.

City will come up against a Lossiemouth outfit that have failed to score in five previous fixtures between the sides, and Gavin Price's men will doubtless be looking to continue that sequence tomorrow evening.

The Coasters, who currently sit in 13th place in the league table, will be looking to bounce back from a crushing 6-1 defeat at home to Banks O' Dee last weekend.

TEAM NEWS
City's only definite absentee will be Anthony McDonald. Hamish Thomson has been unable to train this week however may be able to take a place on the bench.

MANAGERS COMMENTS
Manager Gavin Price commented, "We looked at a number of things from the Rothes game that we could improve on and since then we've had a couple of bounce games including Lochee United on Saturday where I was able to try a few things."

Ewan Loudon netted a double in the win over Rothes with Gavin adding, "It was two strikers goals that he scored on Saturday which is great to see. For the second goal he was in the middle of the six yard box where he needed to be and got his reward. Ewan is progressing all the time but still has some work to do in terms of playing that position. He is working hard and always willing to learn."

Looking ahead to the trip to Lossiemouth tomorrow evening, he said, "It's always tough playing at Lossiemouth so we'll need to be properly prepared for it and ready for a battle.

"I feel with the players that have come in we have a better structure to the team and strong competition for places in virtually every position now. We're now chomping at the bit to play and we know regardless of who makes the starting 11 that we've also got a very strong bench to make positive changes."

PREVIOUS MEETING
Lossiemouth 0-3 Brechin City - 21 January 2023
It's just over a year to the day since the last meeting between the sides which saw City run out 3-0 winners at Grant Park. Marc Scott netted the opener with a fine left footed strike after just 6 seconds and he went on to double the advantage with a header five minutes before the break. Fellow Brechiner Dominik Naglik rounded off the scoring in stoppage time as he headed home from a corner.
