Brechin City FC is delighted to confirm that Anthony McDonald has pledged his future to the Club by putting pen to paper on a one-year contract extension.

The 23-year old playmaker played a crucial part in our Championship winning season in 2022/23 with 10 goals in 30 appearances, but missed much of last season due to a knee injury which subsequently required surgery.

'Ants' returned to training late in the season and featured in the victories over Forres Mechanics and Brora Rangers in April.

He has continued pre-season training with the Club and featured in our friendly fixture against Dundee United on Saturday.

Manager Patrick Cregg commented, "I'm absolutely delighted to get Anthony on board. He will be a huge asset for the group in terms of his quality and workrate - he is a top player. I'm really looking forward to working alongside Anthony and getting the best out of him.

"He has shown great commitment to the Club and we could see his quality from the first training session. He will be an important player for us in the season ahead."
