Match Preview | Nairn County v Brechin City - By Steven Mew

It's back to league action tomorrow for City as we travel to face Nairn County at Station Park.

TEAM NEWS
The Manager reports no injuries from the match against St Johnstone B on Wednesday and will travel to Nairn with a full squad at his disposal.

MANAGERS COMMENTS
Reflecting on the narrow defeat against St Johnstone B in midweek, Patrick Cregg commented, "Again from a performance point of view I thought the effort and everything else that we asked for was there. It was disappointing to lose the game but our full focus now returns to the league on Saturday."

"From our point of view it was a ridiculous tackle (on Aaron Essel's challenge on Spencer Moreland) and how the lad stayed on the pitch is beyond me. I think the majority of the people there thought it was a red card and for whatever reason the officials didn't think it was.

"We had a top class counter attack towards the end with Ewan Loudon scoring but he was just marginally off. But the pace we showed to get from A to B was really good and that's what we are trying to be - a fast up and at them team."

City almost equalised at the death with Anthony McDonald coming close, Patrick added, "If I had to pick someone from midfield for the ball to fall to in that situation it would be Anthony and I really fancied him to put it away but it wasn't to be."

Dayle Robertson netted his first goal for City and the Manager was delighted with his showing, he said, "I thought Dayle's all-round game and work ethic was very good on Wednesday night and he's only going to get sharper. I was really happy with his performances over the back-to-back games - he could have had one or two on Saturday but he showed a great goalscorers mentality to put that to one side and score an excellent goal."

Attention now turns to a trip to Nairn tomorrow with Patrick adding, "It's important that we show the same mentality as Wednesday night and also early in the second half last Saturday against Keith.

"We need to play fast, play aggressive and make it uncomfortable for the opposition because they will be trying to do the same thing to us. We have to go up and beyond their capabilities and it's a game we are really looking forward to - it's a good mental test for everyone."
