Match Preview | Wick Academy v Brechin City - By Steven Mew

City will embark on the mammoth journey to Wick tomorrow afternoon looking to continue their unbeaten start to the Highland League campaign.

Although City ran out 2-1 winners against Huntly last weekend, Manager Patrick Cregg will doubtless be looking for an improvement on the second half performance which was in complete contrast to the first.

Wick boast a strong home record and the Scorries have already defeated the likes of Fraserburgh and Buckie Thistle at Harmsworth Park this season, so City know they have a tough task ahead of them tomorrow.

TEAM NEWS
With the exception of Ryan Ferguson, City are likely to be at full strength for the journey north. Anthony McDonald, who didn't feature last weekend due to sickness, will be back available.

MANAGERS COMMENTS
Looking back at the narrow victory over Huntly last weekend, manager Patrick Cregg commented, "The first half was as good as I've seen us, but in the second half we dropped our levels as a group, albeit with Huntly not being a huge threat either. We played a bit close to our own goal which allowed them to have a bit more control.

"It was frustrating to lose the goal at the end but it's happened now and we can only look forward. I'm not going to criticise the group as they've been extremely good - their willingness to run, duel and compete has been brilliant. We were very happy with the first half, we learn from the second half and we move on."

Marc Scott put in a fine performance which culminated in a goal and a match of the match award. Patrick added, "He's been absolutely brilliant and it was great to see him get on the scoresheet. I think all of our offensive players are going to get good numbers in terms of goals and assists - if we can get the majority of our offensive players in double figures that'll be good going."

Attention now turns to the fixture against Wick Academy at Harmsworth tomorrow, the Manager commented, "We're going to travel up tonight and prepare for the game like we do every week and that is to try and win the game and play a high tempo."
