Match Preview | Brechin City v Strathspey Thistle - By Steven Mew

City will be looking to continue their momentum in the Highland League as we play host to Strathspey Thistle tomorrow afternoon.

Although tomorrow’s visitors currently sit bottom of the league table, they are currently under new management in the shape of former Aberdeen goalkeeper Ryan Esson and head into the game undoubtedly buoyed by their impressive 3-0 win over Lossiemouth last weekend.

TEAM NEWS
City will welcome back the trio of Seth Patrick, Marc Scott and Craig Tosh after missing out last weekend however Ryan Ferguson continues to miss out through injury.

MANAGERS COMMENTS
Looking back at the crucial 2-0 win over Buckie Thistle last weekend, Manager Patrick Cregg said, "It was a tough game. We started the game well and obviously got the goal but in fairness to Buckie they then had territory without really working Lenny.

"Defensively I thought we did really well and throughout the 90 minutes we were a threat on the counter with Dayle and Ewan up top - we changed shape and I thought they worked well together. Scott Logan who is only 19 years of age came into the team and I thought he done really well and put a great shift in for the team.

"Lenny makes a great save at 1-0 - that was a big moment and he's made an unbelievable stop. In fairness to the boy it's a fantastic strike and the only place you are scoring is low or top bins that side. For our level it's a world class save at a vital moment. It allowed us to maintain momentum and if they score it's a different game. When we got the second goal I thought we could have possibly got another.

"I say it every week - it's very difficult to have the pressure on you to win the game every week and ultimately that's what we have to do but the lads embrace it. We have stood up to the questions asked."
