Brechin City FC is pleased to confirm the signing of midfielder Liam Callaghan from near neighbours Arbroath on a loan deal until the end of the season, subject to SFA clearance.
The 30 year-old arrives with considerable SPFL experience, having amassed just short of 250 appearances since making his debut for Cowdenbeath in 2012.
A brief stint with Arbroath followed in 2016, before he made the move up the east coast to Montrose where he enjoyed a fruitful 7 1/2 year spell.
The Kirkcaldy-born midfielder made just short of 200 appearances whilst at Links Park, picking up a League 2 winners medal whilst helping the Gable Endies to a number of promotion play-off finishes in League 1.
He returned back to Arbroath in the summer, making 15 appearances for the table-topping Lichties in the first half of the season.
Manager Patrick Cregg commented, "We're delighted to get Liam in and he's a player that I know really well. He's a good size physically, has a great left foot and a good range of passing. He will be a good signing that will really add to the group."
It is expected Liam will be available for selection for Saturday's trip to Inverness to face Clachnacuddin.
