Match Preview | Clachnacuddin v Brechin City
- By
Steven Mew
City will be looking to blow off the cobwebs with their first league fixture since the turn of the year with a trip to face an in-form Clachnacuddin in Inverness tomorrow.
A combination of frost, cup fixtures and snow has meant that City haven't played a league fixture since the 5-1 win against Huntly on 28th December and the players are undoubtedly 'chomping at the bit' to resume their title charge.
A tough trip awaits tomorrow, with City coming up against undoubtedly the most improved side in the division. Clach currently sit 4th in the Highland League league having registered 42 points already, just short of double what they achieved in the whole of last season as they finished second bottom of the table.
TEAM NEWS
Seth Patrick will be available for selection again after missing the last fixture against Heart of Midlothian through suspension, whilst new loan signing Liam Callaghan will be included in the squad. City will be without the injured Anthony McDonald and Euan Spark.

LAST TIME OUT
City's wait for a Highland League game since the turn of the year goes on, with the scheduled fixture against Strathspey Thistle last weekend falling victim to the snow up north. Clach meanwhile continued their fine campaign with a 2-1 win over Buckie Thistle at Victoria Park, with Craig Lawrie and James Anderson on the target for the Lilywhites.
PREVIOUS MEETING
Clachancuddin 0-2 Brechin City - 16th March 2024
The last meeting between the sides came towards to the tail end of last season, with goals late in the second half from Grady McGrath and Murray Mackintosh earning City the win against a stubborn Clach side.
