Seven weeks on from our last league fixture at the Carnegie Fuels Stadium at Glebe Park, it's back to home comforts for City as we take on 3rd placed Banks O' Dee tomorrow afternoon.
A thumping 4-2 victory at Clachnacuddin last weekend saw City rise back to the top of the Highland League, but they will come up against a Banks O' Dee side who are currently on an excellent run of form and also currently boast the best defensive record in the league.
TEAM NEWS
City will continue to be without long-term injury victim Euan Spark but it is hoped that Anthony McDonald may return to the squad whilst new signing Liam Callaghan may play a part after being an unused substitute last weekend.
MANAGERS COMMENTS
Reflecting on the impressive win in Inverness last weekend, Manager Patrick Cregg commented,
"We knew Clach are a good team and they've been on a really good run this season so we knew it would be tough. I was happy with the lads even at half time as I felt the scoreline was a little false - it wasn't a fair reflection of the game in terms of chances. We managed to get the goals at the start of the season half and outwith their two goals I thought it was a really good performance over the 90 minutes.
"Once we signed Lewis Milne we knew we would be a force from set pieces. We knew we already had the aerial power but it was just a matter of getting a set piece specialist. Lewis has been instrumental in a lot of our goals since he's arrived at the Club."
Dayle Robertson missed a first half penalty however made amends with a fine finish for the third goal. Patrick added,
"I was really happy with Dayle's performance - he just loves scoring goals but the most pleasing thing is his work ethic and willingness to run for the team. I think that's 21 goals for him now so his contribution has been brilliant and his target will be to get to that 30 mark."
Looking ahead to tomorrow's fixture against Banks O' Dee, he added,
"It'll be a tough game but one we're really excited about. It will be a real challenge but we're in good form and we'll be looking to get the win, and I'm sure that will be their mindset as well."

PREVIOUS MEETING
Banks O' Dee 3-0 Brechin City - 6th December 2024
The last meeting between the sides was an instantly forgettable one as City exited the Highland League Cup in difficult conditions at Spain Park. The strong winds and rain certainly didn’t make for a great spectacle, however the Aberdeen outfit simply dealt with the conditions better to progress to the semi finals.
