Match Preview | Formartine United v Brechin City
- By
Steven Mew
City head into the final away league fixture of the season tomorrow afternoon as we make the short trip to Pitmedden to take on Formartine United.
North Lodge Park hasn't proved to be a happy hunting ground for City since coming into the Highland League, with Formartine coming out on top in each of the last 3 league meetings in Aberdeenshire. City did however record a 5-0 win there in the Highland League Cup in 2021.
Ray McKinnon's side will be looking to continue where they left off against Strathspey in midweek and maintain the pressure on Brora Rangers who currently lead the league on goal difference.
Managed by former City midfielder Stuart Anderson, Formartine have endured a fairly inconsistent campaign and currently sit in 8th position in the Highland League.
TEAM NEWS
After picking up an injury in midweek, Dayle Robertson will join Anthony McDonald, Kevin McHattie, Craig Tosh and Mitchell Findlay who are all likely to miss out.
ADMISSION INFORMATION
Tomorrow's match kicks off at 3pm. Admission prices at North Lodge Park are £10 for adults, £5 for concessions (65 and over, U16's and students with valid ID) and U10's go free with a paying adult. Photographic ID may be requested for concessions.

MATCH OFFICIALS

LAST TIME OUT
City were in action on Wednesday evening as they recovered from going a goal behind early on against Strathspey Thistle to record a 4-1 win at Seafield Park. Formartine's last fixture came against Buckie Thistle last weekend as a goal from former City striker Julian Wade cancelled out Fin Allen's opener in a 1-1 draw.
PREVIOUS MEETING
Brechin City 3-1 Formartine United - 2 November 2024
City came out on top in the last meeting between the sides at the Carnegie Fuels Stadium at Glebe Park in November. Goals within the opening 10 minutes from Ewan Loudon and Dayle Robertson had City in a commanding position before Aaron Norris pulled one back for the visitors. Loudon grabbed his second to restore the two goal advantage five minutes before the break.
