City continue their Premier Sports Cup campaign with another trip south to face The Spartans in Edinburgh tomorrow afternoon.
City will undoubtedly be looking for an improvement on recent results following heavy defeats against Falkirk and Queen's Park in the opening two competitive fixtures.
Tomorrow's fixture against a fellow part-time side one tier above is likely to give a better gauge of where City's preparations are at for the season ahead, however they will continue to be missing a number of key personnel for the match.
TEAM NEWS
Manager Ray McKinnon will continue to have a selection headache with Dayle Robertson, Bayley Klimionek, Ben Armour and Fraser Macleod continuing to miss out whilst late checks will be made over another couple of players prior to the game.

PREVIOUS MEETING
Brechin City 1-2 Spartans - 28 October 2023
The sides last met in the 2nd round of the Scottish Cup in 2023 with the Edinburgh side progressing to the next round with a narrow victory. Goals from Bradley Whyte and Michael Allan had given Spartans a 2-goal lead in the second half before Hamish Thomson halved the deficit with a header ten minutes from time. Captain Euan Spark was given his marching orders late on for denying a goalscoring opportunity and the 10-men of City were unable to find another goal to force extra time.
