Match Preview | Banks O’ Dee v Brechin City
- By
Steven Mew
City make the short journey up the A90 tomorrow evening as they look to maintain their 100% record in the Highland League.
They will come up against a Banks O' Dee side that are widely tipped to challenge at the top end of the table, however have suffered a poor start having dropped points in each of their first 3 fixtures against Turriff United, Keith and Lossiemouth. They did however get off the mark with a 3-0 win over Strathspey Thistle on Saturday, with all 3 goals coming the last ten minutes.
TEAM NEWS
After missing the trip to Rothes on Saturday, Bayley Klimionek should return to the squad for tomorrow's game meaning Dayle Robertson will be City's only definite absentee.
MANAGERS COMMENTS
Commenting on the resounding victory over Rothes at the weekend, Manager Ray McKinnon said, "The conditions were difficult especially in the first half with the wind being a factor and to be fair to Rothes I thought they made it difficult for us early on. I thought we could have played better in the first half and was disappointed with the goal that we conceded as I think we should have dealt with it better but I was happy to go in at the break 4-1 up.
"At half time I said for the boys to lift the tempo a bit which we did and overall I was pleased with the performance. Last season we only won 3-2 up at Mackessack Park and it was a very tight game so we were mindful of that and ensured there was no complacency.
"I fancied Grady to score the free-kick for his hat-trick so I was delighted for him and it was also good to get Hutchinson and McKay back too as they've missed a few weeks for different reasons and it was a pleasing performance overall."
