City return to Highland League action this weekend with a testing fixture against an in-form Fraserburgh side at the Carnegie Fuels Stadium at Glebe Park.
The Broch will arrive in Brechin brimming with confidence having won their last 7 fixtures in all competitions, including an impressive 1-0 victory over Brora Rangers last week in the Scottish Cup.
The fixtures between the sides in recent seasons have generally proved to be extremely competitive and closely-fought affairs and tomorrow promises to be no different.
TEAM NEWS
City's only definite absentees will be Dayle Robertson and Brad McKay, otherwise Ray McKinnon should have the squad of his squad to choose from.
MANAGERS COMMENTS
Following the 3-1 victory over Lochee United last weekend, Manager Ray McKinnon commented,
"I was delighted with the players' attitude. These type of games are always tough especially when you consider I was previously Manager at Lochee - I know many people there including Stevie (Fallon) their Manager so it all pointed towards a hard game. They are a good side but we were professional and did extremely well and got the job done.
"I thought we controlled the game in the first half, played some nice football and dictated the tempo of the game. We didn't really look under any pressure and we knew they'd change their system at half time.
"They went out in the second half and adjusted to the change in system and got the 3rd goal which was a fantastic strike from Mitch. If a player in the Premier League had produced that you'd be seeing it for the rest of the season. His attitude, energy and fitness levels are fantastic and we're delighted to have him."
"It was disappointing to lose the goal at the end as it did give Lochee a bit of momentum and they started throwing caution to the wind and our two centre halves made great blocks towards the end of the game."

LAST TIME OUT
Both sides were in Scottish Cup action last weekend - City were 3-1 winners away to Midlands League side Lochee United whilst Fraserburgh also progressed to the 2nd round with an impressive 1-0 victory on their travels against Brora Rangers.
PREVIOUS MEETING
Brechin City 1-1 Fraserburgh - 21st December 2024
City were left frustrated at Glebe Park after letting a lead slip late on against Fraserburgh in the last meeting between the sides.
After a tight first half, the home side broke the deadlock just after the hour mark when Ewan Loudon nodded home to put City 1–0 ahead. Brechin looked in control with chances to extend their lead, but they couldn’t find a second goal to kill off the game.
That proved costly as Fraserburgh equalised six minutes from time through Kieran Simpson, denying City all three points.
MASCOT
Leading out the City team tomorrow will be our mascot Ross Littlejohn - we hope you have a fantastic day!
