The club are appealing to the fans to turn out in force for what promises to be an exciting clash against Raith Rovers on Saturday at Glebe Park. A win would go a long way to confirming City's place in the play-off's.

If City can record a victory this week-end, it would put them four points ahead of Raith in the play-off's. Raith have been in great form in recent weeks but suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to 2nd placed Stirling on Saturday.

At times like this, the club need the backing of those that may not consider themselves regulars.

Chairman David Birse said: "We have had a few injuries and suspensions of late and this is a massive game. We are expecting a decent travelling support from Kirkaldy and I urge everyone in the local community to get along to the Glebe to lend their support on Saturday.

"Our players have been working hard, and there is a lot of effort going on behind the scenes at present to ensure we maintain our challenge for the play-off's.

"So please show your support this weekend, even though it's only for one afternoon. That hour and a half you give Brechin City could make all of the difference."

For those who are unfamiliar with the play-off system, here are the rules:

The second lowest placed club in the First Division will play the fourth placed club in the Second Division on a home and away knock out basis. The second lowest placed club in the First Division will play the second leg at home.

The second highest placed club in the Second Division will play the third highest placed club in the Second Division on a home and away knock out basis. The second highest club in the second Division will play the second leg at home.

The winners of the two ties will play off on a home and away knock out basis. The home team in the first tie will be determined by the drawing of lots. The winner of this tie will play in the First Division in the following season.
