Saints Tie Postponed

Tonight’s Challenge Cup tie against St Johnstone was subject to a late postponement when the Police Match Commander called the game off as he felt there was a safety issue regarding lighting in the West Stand.
Following the postponement, St Johnstone F.C Managing Director Stewart Duff said “We are extremely disappointed. Unfortunately, a set of lights in the West Stand tripped. We would never compromise in the area of health and safety and we certainly felt that the lighting was more than sufficient for the game to go ahead. We offered to relocate supporters to the East Stand but this was an option not taken up by the Match Commander.
“Supporters have been denied a game we felt should have been played and the Club wishes to apologise to the supporters who had made the effort to get to the game only to be left disappointed.”
The match will now be played next Tuesday at 7.45pm.
