City Sign Polish Midfielder - By Steve Mitchell

Brechin City are delighted to announce the signing of winger/midfielder Lukasz Rusin on a temporary transfer up until January.

Lukasz is described as "a real entertainer" by those who were fortunate enough to see him in action for his junior club, Haddington Athletic. Despite the Brechin community's long-established links with Poland, it's believed Lukasz is the first Polish player to actually sign for the club.

Lukasz was with KS Gawin Krolewska Wola in his native Poland before moving to Scotland, where he played in the 2005/06 season for Edinburgh amateurs Tynecastle Star, managed by former East Fife and Falkirk boss Dave Clarke.

Former Forfar and East Fife striker, Gordon Scott, then was tipped off about Lukasz and went to watch him in action, being suitably impressed to invite him to train at Haddington Athletic in May 2006. Despite attracting interest from East Fife, Stenhousemuir and Linlithgow Rose, in the summer, Lukasz signed a new deal with his junior club. He has however, been training with City for some time and after a good start to the season with the Hi-Hi, is relishing the prospect of making it in senior football.
