City head south west - By Match Secretary

BRECHIN City head south west on Saturday in a positive frame of mind after their thrilling 3-0 cup victory over highly fancied East Fife in midweek.

They face a Stranraer side who were drastically under strength when they lost five first half goals to Morton in the Co-op Cup in midweek, with ex-Red, Iain Russell bagging a brace.

However, Stranraer were without two of their most influential players for that one in the shape of Frenchman and former Forfar winger, Gregory Tade and striker, former QOS forward Mick Mullen. It remains to be seen whether wither plays on Saturday. The Blues also have doubts over Andy Gibson and Kevin Nicoll.

Brechin should be at full strength other than longer-term absentee, Gary Fusco, and Michael O'Neill is hoping that City strike duo, Gary Twigg and Ian Diack, can repeat their rcent good form, which has seen them link up very effectively.

The Brechin manager also revaled this week, that he is still negotationg with one "Trialist" who has been training with the club, however, two others have not been offered deals at Glebe Park.
