BRECHIN City will meet SPL leaders, Kilmarnock at Glebe Park in the second round of the Co-Operative Insurance Cup, after the draw was made this afternoon in Glasgow
The draw comes five years after "Killie" were knocked out at Glebe Park by virtue of a Steven Hampshire goal, handing City their first ever win against SPL opposition.
Under the astute guidance of Jim Jefferies and Billy Brown. Kilmarnock will provide a real test for Michael O'Neill's side, but the Brechin manager was reasonably pleased with the draw.
He said: "It probably could have been better from a financial perspective. But it's a game where nobody expects us to win and one in which we will certainly have a right go in.
"In the cup, all you can ask for is a home draw and we have got that and its a great incentive for those in the team, to work hard and try and stay in it, if they want to play against top notch opposition."
