Brechin City 1 Alloa Athletic 2

Gary Twigg got Brechin off to a quick start with the opening goal at 8 minutes. Brechin continued to be the better club on the pitch following that, but somehow lost the focus and allowed Alloa to take control. The home side then took two goals in the space of 5 minutes to put them up before the half.
Coming back in the second half Alloa was clearly the team in control for the majority of the half. Brechin did come back to playing some sound football late in the second half and really gave it a go. Sadly it was too little too late in the match.
Many exciting moments, several missed opportunities and chances that just were that wee bit unlucky and could have been a winning day, but it was just not to be. Added to that, when awarded a penalty the chance to level was wasted, just seemed to sum up the day.
