Following representations by Brechin City FC officials and the SFA General Purposes Committee at Hampden on Wednesday 11th March the SFA Appeals Panel rejected the clubs appeal against the decision of the General Purposes Committee to impose a suspended sanction for the clubs non compliance with National Club Licensing criteria.

Chairman Ken Ferguson stated ' We are extremely disappointed with last nights appeal board decision whereby our appeal against the SFA GPC sanctions was rejected. The management committee will discuss this matter at our next committee meeting to decide the way forward.

We will seek advice from the Scottish Football League and other professionals to try and work out a solution to this difficult problem. We will also seek the advice and opinion of our members as any proposed ground alterations will have a considerable impact on their Glebe Park match day experience.

Personally I cannot see how removing terracing from one whole side of our park can benefit our Club in any way other than to comply with regulations set down by our own association.

The fines imposed on us are suspended and staged over the next three years. We believe that if we make satisfactory progress towards widening our pitch the fines will not be applied, the question now is if the construction works are achievable or affordable.

We note that the SFA has stated that they wish to work with the Club to find a solution and we look forward to exploring this offer of assistance further.
