Brechin City FC Management Committee has co-opted John Cavanagh to the committee following Murray Lindsay’s decision to step down because of work commitments.

Chairman Ken Ferguson said’ It appears the Club is going through a period of change at the moment. Murray indicated some time ago that he was finding it difficult to commit fully to the committee because of his offshore work patterns. Whilst we are sorry to see Murray leave the committee we respect his decision to step down and we thank him for all the valuable work he has done during his time with the Club. Murray was instrumental in getting our hospitality lounge up and running whilst also constantly repairing and maintaining various aspects of Glebe Park. I am pleased that Murray has indicated that he wishes to continue to help and assist the Club in the future when he is available to do so.

We welcome John Cavanagh to the committee. John expressed an interest in joining the committee having been a season ticket holder for a number of seasons, supporting the Club from the stand. He is a keen and faithful follower of the Club and I am sure he will become a valuable committee member to help with the ever increasing workload associated with running a senior football club on part time, voluntary terms. John and his family reside in Brechin whilst being employed as the Rector at Baldragon Academy in Dundee.
