Peterhead v Brechin City - By John Hoey

Brechin travel up north to Peterhead tomorrow night to fulfil the re-arranged league fixture which was postponed because of gale-force winds on 3rd October.

Manager Jim Duffy will have a full-squad to choose from apart from long-term casualties David Murie and David White. Kevin Byers is also still ruled out with a hamstring injury. Midfielder Ian Nimmo’s shin injury has improved, and he may make the squad but it will be a last-minute decision as to whether or not he’s fit to play.

Peterhead were walloped by Cowdenbeath on Saturday by 5-0 but Jim feels that this will not necessarily work in his team’s favour.

“ The fact that Peterhead lost 5-0 on Saturday will make them more dangerous opponents,” he said.

“ Their players will be desperate to make amends for Saturday’s defeat and will be wanting to put on a good show in front of their own fans. Balmoor Stadium is always a difficult place to go to so we know that we will have to work very hard if we are to take anything from the game.”

“ Looking back to Saturday’s match, the players played some really good football in the opening 45 minutes but when Alloa came back into the game after the break we had to show a different aspect to our game which involved us in battling hard for everything and being resilient when we were under pressure.”

“ The players have been working hard during games and giving everything they have and if we continue to do that and also try to be positive in our approach then I’ll be happy.”

“ We want to win this fixture, so we’ll be taking the game to Peterhead and if we perform to the standards we’re capable of I’m confident we can get a good result.”
