Murie and White Close to Return - By John Hoey

Two of City’s most experienced players, David White and David Murie will soon be knocking at the first-team door as their long battle with injury nears its end.

White suffered a horrendous double- leg break last December against Ayr United and has slowly fought his way back to full fitness. He will be joining junior outfit Newtongrange Star, managed by ex Stenhousemuir player Graeme Armstrong, for a month and is likely to make his debut for them this coming Saturday against Bathgate Thistle. Murie has been out since the beginning of the season after undergoing a cartilage operation but he is now back in competitive training.

Boss Jim Duffy is delighted with the progress that both players have made and is looking forward to having them back as members of his first-team squad.

“ Both players are great guys to have about the dressing room and excellent professionals and the fact that they’re nearing full fitness has given everyone at the club a huge boost,” said Jim.

“ Davie White has gone out on loan to Newtongrange Star in the Junior Super League in order to give him some much needed match practice, while David Murie is now back in full competitive training.”

“ It shouldn’t be too long before both players are challenging for a place in the first-team which is terrific news and everyone is looking forward to their return.”
