Cowdenbeath v Brechin City - By John Hoey

City travel to Cowdenbeath tomorrow in what will undoubtedly be the Second Division’s game of the day.

City, sitting in second place in the league face the team immediately below them in the table. Victory for Brechin would put some space between themselves and the teams below them while a win for the Fifers would see them leapfrog City into second place in the table.

A cracker of a game is on the cards and manager Jim Duffy is looking forward to the challenge.

“ When Cowdenbeath came to Glebe Park earlier in the season they proved to be tough opponents and we had to work really hard to collect all three points, “ he said.

“ Cowden have been doing well since then and tomorrow’s match will be another tough challenge for us. The players though have been working hard and have been playing some good football and we will be going into tomorrow’s match with a positive approach. If we play to the standard we’re capable of, I’m sure we can come away with a good result and that will certainly be our aim.”

Kevin Byers has recovered from his hamstring injury and will return to the squad but fellow midfielder Ian Nimmo is still suffering from a viral infection and will miss out.

Mark Baxter, Darren McGregor and Danny Mackay will all be missing for Danny Lennon's men and there is also a doubt about John Dempster.
