Sharp & Panther Join On Loan

Brechin are set to confirm the loan signing of James Sharp from Falkirk and Emmanuel Panther from Partick Thistle till the end of the season.
Sharp, a 29 year old centre back, played virtually every game for Falkirk last season, but has not held down a regular first-team place this term. With a suspension looming for David White and Jamie Smith injured, manager Ian Campbell has looked to get cover in that area.
John Hughes said today Falkirk’s official site: "Sharpie is the type of guy who wants to play week in week out, and unfortunately for him things are going well in defence at the moment and his opportunities have been limited. I'm sure he'll be an asset to Ian Campbell as Brechin look to move back into the first division."
Panther is a midfielder who is rated highly by Partick boss Dick Campbell, but has struggled to get a regular place in the first team. City's former manager wants him to get some first team experience before he decides whether to keep him at the end of the season.
Dick told the Partick Thistle official web site: "Manny should be playing every week at his age and with us having a lot of competition for the midfield areas there was not likely to be too many opportunities open to him. This way he gets the chance to play every week and I am sure that will benefit him. I will get the chance to keep up with how he is doing and we can then make a decision on him at the end of the season."
Ian Campbell stated: “We have stated all along, that it would only be when players with enough quality to provide competition and play in our first team became available, we would make our moves. Both these players have excellent pedigrees and will be fine additions for Brechin City between now and the end of the season."
Ally Mitchell, Kevin Byers, Jamie Smith, Steven Ferguson and Grant Johnson are all struggling to be fit for Saturday's match at Berwick and the manager will be pleased to have added both players to the squad.
