SFA NCL - Pitch Widening
- By
Chairman
As has been previously reported the Club face the possibility of an SFA fine if satisfactory progress is not made towards widening the playing surface to comply with SFA National Club Licening requirements.
With the January 2010 deadline looming the Club has applied to Angus Council to establish if planning permission will be granted to remove the Distillery Road terracing and repositioning the floodlights.
Chairman Ken Ferguson said "The Club recently had the annual SFA National Club Licensing audit. Once again the Club ticks all boxes other than the size of the pitch. If planning permission is granted, we will then face the question of funding the works. At this moment in time we cannot see where the funding will come from to carry out these works as it appears that one club has already been refused grant aid from the Scottish Football Partnership for exactly the same project.
I can assure our supporters that the management committee will make no major financial decision in respect of this issue without full consultation with our members."
