News Update - By John Hoey

City boss Jim Duffy has offered new deals to Bobby Barr and Mark Docherty while Kris Renton, Sean McKenna and Chris McGroarty will be leaving the club when their contracts expire within the next few days.

“ We’ve offered contracts to Bobby Barr and Mark Docherty and are hoping that they will accept the terms that have been offered,” said Jim.

“ Ian Harty’s loan period with Forfar also expires shortly and the rules forbid us extending his loan beyond the deadline so we’ll be discussing how we progress matters with Ian and with Forfar Athletic within the next few days.

I can also confirm that Kris Renton, Chris McGroarty and Sean McKenna will all be leaving the club when their contracts expire.”

With Saturday’s game against Arbroath already looking doubtful with a pitch inspection arranged for tomorrow morning, the manager has been lamenting the lack of training facilities at his disposal due to the big freeze.

“ The weather has decimated our training schedules over the last few days,” said Jim.

“ This country doesn’t really have a lot of good indoor training facilities and in common with most other part-time clubs, we’ve been finding it really difficult to get the players together and train in suitable conditions. The added difficulty is that many of the players would find it difficult to get to training because of the icy roads and we obviously wouldn’t want anyone to travel in those conditions. Having said that, there seems to be a slight thaw today and hopefully this will continue, so I’ve managed to get training facilities near Glasgow for tomorrow night and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that everyone will be able to attend. I’ve also asked the players to attend their local gyms, where appropriate and to try and keep themselves in shape.”
