Alloa Preview

City boss Jim Duffy will have a full-strength squad from which to choose his team for tomorrow’s game against Alloa Athletic at the Glebe.
If they can collect three points against the Wasps and results elsewhere go in their favour, then City could conceivably move into third place in the table while Alloa, if they win, could be top of the table come 4.45pm tomorrow night, so both sides have everything to play for and the fans are in for a treat if tomorrow’s match turns out to be anything like the previous two games between the sides as the manager explained.
“ Games between ourselves and Alloa this season have been well-contested with a lot of good football being played by both sides,” said Jim.
“ I don’t think that tomorrow’s match will be anything different as both teams like to take the game to their opponents.”
“ We won narrowly here at Glebe Park while Alloa won by the odd goal when we played them there so I think that we are very well-matched.”
The manager will have a full-strength squad available and he is hopeful that the players will learn from last week’s 2-2 draw against Stenhousemuir.
“ I was disappointed to lose two goals from set-pieces and we must guard against that happening tomorrow. We also had lots of pressure and created a number of opportunities last week and it would be nice if we could put a bigger percentage of them away.”
Alloa boss Allan Maitland will have new signing Bryan Prunty available to face City.
“ Prunty was bought by us to make a difference to our attack and he has done that in his first two games,” said Maitland.
“ He scored against Stenhousemuir and got a late winner for us against Arbroath last Saturday.”
“ I should also praise David Crawford (Ex Queens Park) who has had a large number of shut-outs for us this season.
Joining Prunty at Recreation Park recently is ex Ayr team-mate David Gormley and also joining up is former Cardiff City defender James Bloom (18) who has been capped at U17, U19 and U21 levels.
Missing from the line-up for tomorrow’s match will be defender Chris Townsley who could be out for four weeks after pulling a muscle against Arbroath. Also missing tomorrow will be winger Mark Gilhaney and defender Dougie Wilson.
