Dick Calls For Support - By Keith Johnston

City manager, Dick Campbell, has urged his team's supporters to back them in making the third round of the CIS Cup for the second year in succession.

"We have a very difficult tie make no mistake about that. Albion Rovers have gone away from home and beaten both Raith Rovers and Queen of the South already this season, so they will be very tough opposition indeed.

"They have a great deal of experience in their side and some very good professionals in their set up and it's always a hard game you get at Cliftonhill.

"I hope our supporters who made the long journey to Berwick on Saturday will get behind us again and I'd personally like to thank all those who backed us on Saturday for their patience. I'm sure they'll agree they were rewarded in the end.

"Coatbridge is a 2-hour drive maximum from Brechin, so I'm hoping as many of our loyal punters get get away from their way and give us their back on Tuesday evening.

"The players and I really appreciate it and believe me, it makes a huge difference when you travel all around the country to see a gathering of red scarves in the various grounds.

"I was delighted to see Big "Sanny" heading in the direction of the punters on Saturday after scoring, these people are what the game is all about."
