Cook, McKenna and Molloy Sign In

Manager Jim Weir has followed up the signing of Arbroath midfielder Jamie Redman with three further acquisitions to the Glebe Park squad.
The manager has signed full-back Andrew Cook from East Fife, midfielder Craig Molloy from Stenhousemuir and striker David McKenna from Stirling Albion, all on one-year contracts, and he indicated that the recent signing spree is set to continue.
“ Ideally, I’d like a squad of around eighteen or nineteen players and I hope we can have around that number in place for the beginning of the season,” said Jim.
“ There are a further couple of players, possibly three, who we’d like to sign and we’ll be following that up just as soon as we can.
The three lads we’ve signed tonight will certainly have a big contribution to make to the squad.
Andrew Cook is a strong, attacking full-back who is comfortable on both the right and the left side of the park. He is exceptionally fit and he will give the team a good physical presence.
Craig Molloy will provide great spirit in the middle of the park. He is capable of scoring goals from midfield and he can also play in defence. He will give the team the necessary dig that is required in midfield and he is also a good talker which is an important attribute in any side.
David McKenna is a proven goal-scorer. He scored ten goals last year and nine goals the year before that. He is an excellent finisher and an extremely clever footballer and he will certainly provide goals.”
The manager has also been busy organising a number of pre-season friendlies as he prepares his squad for the new season.
City will host SPL side Motherwell at home on Tuesday 6th July and they will then travel to Forthbank on the Saturday of that week to play Second Division champions Stirling Albion.
New First Division side Cowdenbeath will visit Glebe Park on Tuesday 13th July and a Forfarshire cup-tie against Angus neighbours Montrose will take place at Glebe Park on Saturday 17th July. SPL side St.Mirren will visit the Glebe four days later with the kick-off set at 7.45pm.
