BRECHIN CITY best in Division Two

BRECHIN City's match programme "The Spire" has picked up the much coveted "Programme Monthly" Second Division Programme of the Year Award.
"The Spire" beat Greenock Morton and Ayr United who were placed in Second and third placed respectively.
Editor, Steve Mitchell, said: "I'm absolutely delighted for all the guys who spend a lot of time and effort putting together the programme every week, this is very much their award.
"The most pleasing thing of all is that Morton and Ayr's programmes are both glossy full-colour editions, which obviously took a bit of beating. But overall I think the standard of the entire Second Division has been much better than it was when we won the award two seasons ago.
"There was probably more planning in this season' programme than ever before. We seemed to get the blend of news, historical and statistical information just right. But there is always room for improvement!
"The programme wouldn't even go into production without the increased number of advertisers who help us produce the programme and help us cover the production costs.
"We also have to thank Jeff Moir and Andrew Stephen at City Press, our printers, who have played a major role in helping us develop the programme further over the last few years.
"We are already planning for next season. But ideally we want to produce a full-colour programme and are actively seeking a main sponsor to help meet the increased costs.
"It's a great opportunity for a local company to get their company logo or name recognised. The recent awards apart, the programme more often than not sells out and is also sent to all corners of the world through our subscription service.
