Stenhousemuir - Brechin Preview

City travel to Ochilview tomorrow to play Stenhousemuir in the 1st round of the CIS Cup and manager Jim Weir hopes that the players can come away with a victory.
“ The lads put in a huge amount of effort last week against East Fife and were unfortunate to come away with nothing,” said Jim.
“ We face another difficult game tomorrow and I’ll be looking for the same level of determination and work-rate that was in evidence last Saturday. We let ourselves down a bit defensively against East Fife and we’ll have to improve in that regard tomorrow, but we’re all looking forward to the game and will be determined to come away with a win.”
The manager has a number of injury concerns to contend with ahead of tomorrow’s match.
It’s been confirmed that Craig Nelson fractured a hand against the Fifers and he’ll be out for between four and six weeks which is a massive blow to the club.
Scott Morrison, who was back-up keeper to Darren Hill at Arbroath last season has been signed on a temporary contract until 28th August and he’ll go straight into the squad for tomorrow’s game.
It’s also been confirmed that Jamie Redman will require a further hernia operation and he’ll go into hospital for surgery a week on Monday which means that he’ll be out for a further four to five weeks.
Paul McLean, Barry Smith and Gary Fusco are also all carrying injuries.
McLean and Smith have been able to train this week but Fusco was unable to train for part of this week and he would have to be regarded as doubtful for tomorrow’s cup-tie.
Charlie King will also be missing tomorrow as he will be attending a family wedding.
