Brechin-Stenhousemuir Preview

John Hoey
City open their home league account against Stenhousemuir at the Glebe tomorrow and manager Jim Weir has a few injury problems to contend with ahead of the game.
" Craig Nelson and Jamie Redman remain side-lined," explained Jim.
" Craig is still recovering from a fractured hand sustained in our Alba Cup tie against East Fife and will be out for a few more weeks while Jamie is recovering from the hernia operation he underwent on Monday and he'll also be out for the forseeable future."
" In addition, Calum Booth is 99% certain of being out. Barry Smith hasn't trained all week and Gary Fusco at best will make the bench."
Despite those injury worries, Jim is looking forward to tomorrow's match.
" The players' attitude and application has been excellent so far and we want that to continue. I feel that we have good quality within the squad and competition for places is keen. When players are injured it allows other lads to come in and stake a claim for a regular place in the side."
" We beat Stenny at Ochilview a couple of weeks ago in the CIS Cup, but there's no doubt they'll present a major challenge tomorrow."
" They've bounced right back with two excellent wins. They beat a good Peterhead side in their opening league game and they had a superb 4-1 win against Dundee in the Alba Cup on Tuesday night."
" We know that they will present a very stern challenge tomorrow but we want to ensure that we pick up three valuable league points in our opening home match and we'll be doing everything in our power to achieve that."
