It is with regret that the Club have agreed to release Barry Smith to allow him to take up the position of interim manager at Dundee FC.

Chairman Ken Ferguson said

"Barry has been a model Pro whilst at Brechin City, he gave everything in his performances and was a pillar of strength amongst the squad.

Whilst we are disappointed to loose such an influential player when we ourselves are aiming for promotion, we have to respect the wishes of the player as an individual. Given the much publicised problems currently facing Dundee FC and the fact that Barry currently holds a full time position at the Club, the Manager and Committee have agreed to allow Barry to take up the Managers role at a Club that he holds dear to his heart.

We extend our thanks to Barry for all that he has done for Brechin City and we wish him well in his new position."
