Brechin - Annan Preview - By John Hoey

Apart from long-term casualty Charlie King, and on-loan Hibs defender Calum Booth who is not being allowed to play Brechin City look like having everyone available for tomorrow afternoon’s Third Round Scottish Cup tie against Third Division Annan Athletic at Glebe Park.

According to assistant manager Kevin McGowne, the team should be at near full-strength.

“ Obviously we will be without Charlie King and Hibs don't want Calum Booth cup-tied, so unfortunately he will miss out, but everyone else should be available including Ewan Moyes who had to sit out last Saturday’s local derby against Forfar Athletic after going over his ankle in training with Hibs,” said Kevin.

“ Ewan appears to have made a good recovery and trained with the rest of the players last night so he should be available for tomorrow although we’ll probably leave it until the last minute before making a decision.”

“ David White played his first full 90 minutes, in a league game, in almost two years last Saturday and did really well so he’ll also come into consideration for tomorrow.”

“ We’re expecting nothing other than a hard game from Annan and we’re under no illusions about difficult they’ll make things for us.”

“ The manager impressed to the players last night that they’ll have to be at the top of their game if they want to progress to the next round so there’s no way we’ll do anything other than accord Annan full respect.”

“ The Scottish Cup can be a great money-spinner for clubs like ourselves and we want to ensure that we go into the hat for the 4th round draw hoping that we can get a bumper draw, but we have to overcome Annan first and as I said, everyone here knows that that won’t be easy.”

For Annan, goalkeeper Craig Summersgill is struggling with illness, Aaron Muirhead is a doubt and Chris Jardine must pass a fitness test.
