On behalf of the players, management and committee of Brechin City FC I extend our best wishes to all our supporters, sponsors and season ticket holders for a very merry Christmas and a most enjoyable festive season.

There is no doubting that the game in Scotland is going through a difficult period with finances under pressure from postponed home games and speculation about league reconstruction rife in the media. We agree that change is required within the game and we look forward to the debates and discussions that lie ahead.

At times like these it is important that as the Management Committee of the Club we focus on the job we are elected to do on behalf of the members, and that is to simply compete at the highest level we can in the senior game whilst striving to balance the books.

We may not have seen much football recently but we go into the second half of the season still represented in the Scottish Cup and top of the 2nd Division. We hope we can count on the full support of the Brechin and District community in the New Year as we work to maintain our challenge for promotion.
