Campbell Salutes His Players

As a very successful campaign draws to a close, promotion to the first division was guaranteed thanks to Saturday's 3-0 victory over Ayr United. Manager Ian Campbell is obviously delighted to have had such a successful start to life as a football manager, having taken over from brother Dick in January.
He said: "Congratulations to everyone connected with Brechin City now that we have secured our position back in the first division.
"What a season it has been. We have scored a lot of goals, won a lot of games and our defence has been solid as a rock.
"Of course we want to go on now and win the championship - it is certainly no more than we deserve.
"I want to pay particular thanks to the players. They have been absolutely superb this season, playing good football, winning and above all competing fiercely to win games. Equally the backroom staff at our club just can't get any better, first class in every way.
"Lets look to finish the season off well and myself, Bert and John have already put in place our plans for next season.
"Thanks once again to my chairman, committee and supporters for backing me always, I'm delighted for everyone. The first division is where Brechin City deserve to be."
Pink's efforts for next season were given a boost with news that midfielder Steven Ferguson has agreed a two year contract with the club. The player, signed from Ayr earlier this season, has been outstanding in the middle of the park for Brechin and will undoubtedly be an asset to City in Division 1.
